Mark Sweeting was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas. He attended Taylor University from 1986-1990, graduating with a B.A. in Chemistry Pre-Med. While at Taylor, Mark met his wife, Linda, to whom he has been married for 30 years. After
working in the pharmaceutical industry as a chemist for a few years, he changed careers and has spent the last 25+ years owning, managing and consulting in IT across a broad range of industries.
Mark and Linda have 3 children – Ashley (27), Emilianna (21) and Noah (18). In 2005, they decided to leave The Bahamas and move to Wheaton, where Linda was raised and still had family and friends. This resulted in new opportunities for the whole family in work, education, extramural and church activities. The Sweetings have attended Wheaton Bible Church since 2005 and are active members in their small groups, with Linda leading her own women’s Bible study group for many years . Mark enjoys reading, travel, history and learning all kinds of new things – his latest hobby is cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
While having served as a church deacon and board member in other situations previously, this is Mark’s first opportunity to serve on a non-profit board and he is excited to contribute to the work and participate in further building the legacy of JUST of DuPage.
